Business Consultant - Finance Solution

What you'll do

Client Advisory & Requirements In the context of our Finance Solution
  • Participate in discovery engagements with senior stakeholders to define business requirements, target operating models, close calendar
  • Assist in diagnostic assessments across chart of accounts, subledger requirements, posting rules, event engines, and data lineage from source to subledger to GL
  • Contribute to the creation and validation of functional specifications, end-to-end process designs, and detailed data mappings (source → staging → Finance Solution → GL/Reporting),
  • Support the team in ensuring alignment with regulatory and accounting frameworks.
Finance Solution Configuration & Functional Design
  • Contribute to the functional design and configuration of the Finance Solution/Subledger (posting schemes, events, accounting rules, reconciliation structures)
  • Support the configuration and validation of accounting events (e.g., origination, amortization, impairments, interest accruals, fee recognition) to ensure they align with relevant frameworks (e.g., IFRS, local GAAP)
  • Implement and maintain data quality controls, exception handling, and reconciliation processes (subledger ↔ GL, balances ↔ movements).
Data & Integration
  • Execute the test strategy across SIT/UAT, including scenario design, acceptance criteria; perform data validation, variance analysis, and traceability to requirements
  • Support the integration of our soultion with core banking platforms, GL systems, and other applications, working alongside senior functional consultants
Testing, Cutover & Hypercare
  • Support UAT by collaborating with business users, assist In defect resolution, participating in cutover rehearsals, and support go-live.
  • Help Implement and monitor control reports, dashboards, and KPIs for the close process (e.g., unposted items, recon breaks, posting error rates, timeliness).
  • Stakeholder Management & Change
  • Work with senior consultants to support client stakeholders in decision-making around design options, operating model changes, and risk mitigation.
  • Deliver end-user training, help develop playbooks/runbooks, and contribute to status reporting for steering committees with risk/issue reporting, dependency tracking, and change management
  • Actively participate in our team's culture of learning by contributing to knowledge sharing and helping to build our internal capabilities.

Why we should decide on you

  • 2 years + hands-on experience participating in the implementation of Finance or Accounting solutions.
  • Familiarity with validation rules, and return packages is an advantage.
  • A good understanding of banking products (loans, deposits, securities, derivatives), accounting events, subledger design, and period close
  • Working knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP  and the interplay between finance and regulatory reporting functions
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field. Professional certifications are a plus (e.g. ACCA/CPA; Agile/Scrum).
  • Proficiency In SQL for data validation and reconciliation
  • Experience with ETL concepts and data quality controls
  • Very good English language level, both speaking and writting
  • Familiarity with Agile collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), and strong documentation skills.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders to translate requirements into functional designs. An analytical mindset with structured problem-solving skills. Experience in a client-facing or implementation role is highly valued.
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with how Finance solutions integrate with core banking and GL systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics)
  • Exposure to, or a keen interest in, advanced topics like IFRS 9, including EIR/amortized cost, impairment postings, and hedge accounting.
